Smart Construction Group built a new warehouse and production facility for Venus, a manufacturer of electrical devices and supplies, under consultant Mass M. The project was delivered from the ground up — earth works, concrete works and civil construction through to heavy-duty industrial flooring and finishes.
Building a production facility from bare ground allows the structure to be shaped around the operation rather than the other way round. Foundation design, floor specification and layout were developed against the loads, traffic and material flow the facility would actually carry, so the building supports production rather than constraining it. Industrial flooring in particular determines how a plant performs for decades: SCG controlled subgrade preparation, concrete placement, level control and joint planning through every stage of the pour.
